Could not connect to chosen Fielding Graduate University Library Services database
Fielding Graduate University Library Services provides you with
access to a number of research databases; they are created, maintained and hosted not by Fielding, but by third-party providers, and accessed via the Internet in a manner that relays the network address of a Fielding-based computer, rather than your own, to the third-party provider for purposes of access authorization. Because of
today's exceedingly complex and security-focused online environment,
that access does not always work for all users.
- If you are trying to access library databases from the Research Databases page, please review and follow the directions in this guide because they will help you troubleshoot what the problem could be.
- If you are trying to access library databases from the Research Databases page, and the directions in the guide above do not solve your problem, many databases are still accessible via manual logins and passwords, as a "backup" method. For example, all ProQuest, SAGE, and OCLC FirstSearch databases are available via manual logins and passwords (though CSA databases are not). To access databases via logins and passwords, on the Research Databases page:
- Select a database from the pull-down menu.
- Instead of just clicking on "go", first click on the radio button by "See description/user guide (with usernames and passwords if access above fails)."
- Then click on "Go!"
- In the description for the database, scroll to the bottom, and use the Username/Password combinations listed in the provided link to the login screen.
The username and password boxes below are only for Fielding librarians:
